The challenge
The organisation trained staff across the region using tools that treated Arabic as a stylesheet applied at the end. Layouts broke in right-to-left, numerals and dates were inconsistent, and managers had no reliable view of who had completed what.
Arabic could not be a translation layer bolted on at the end. Direction had to be a property of the design system itself, or every new component would break it again.
Our solution
We built a bilingual design system from the component layer up, with every component tested in both directions as an acceptance criterion rather than a QA pass at the end.
The platform runs on Azure with course authoring, assessments, certificates and a reporting dashboard for managers, with CI/CD and monitoring handed over to the client's own team.
What we built
- Bilingual design system with full RTL support through tokens and components
- Course builder with video, quizzes and certificates
- Learner progress tracking and reminder workflows
- Manager and administrator analytics
- Azure hosting with CI/CD, monitoring and documented runbooks
The results
Both languages were treated as first languages from the component layer up, which is what let the platform be adopted on both sides of the organisation at once.
